About the role

The Commis III – Hot & Cold role supports the culinary team at Sheraton Hotels & Resorts in Sharjah by preparing and cooking a variety of hot and cold dishes. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced hotel kitchen while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, and storing fresh produce.
• Measure, weigh, and mix ingredients according to recipes and quality checklists.
• Cook hot dishes and assemble cold dishes, ensuring proper presentation and portion control.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers safely and efficiently.
• Monitor food quality during preparation and test for proper cooking.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized work station, including tools, knives, and equipment.
• Check and record temperature of appliances and food items.
• Follow all safety, security, and company policies, reporting any hazards or incidents.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a food‑preparation or kitchen environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift objects up to 25 lb throughout the shift.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to hygiene standards.
• Professional appearance and clear communication skills.
