Commis (Kitchen Assistant) – Full-Time

About the role

The SLS Dubai Hotel and Residences is seeking a dedicated Commis to support the culinary team in delivering high‑quality food service in a 5‑star environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing and peeling fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure and mix ingredients according to recipes and HACCP guidelines.
• Cook and plate dishes such as soups, desserts, sides and entrees, ensuring proper portioning and presentation.
• Maintain clean food storage areas and monitor appliance temperatures using thermostats and thermometers.
• Report maintenance or safety issues promptly to management.
• Assist the Chef during busy periods to ensure optimal guest service.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Minimum two years of kitchen experience in an accredited restaurant or hotel.
• One to two years in a public‑contact role, preferably within an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment, and good English communication skills.
• Team‑oriented attitude with the ability to work independently when needed.
