About the role
The Ritz-Carlton in Dubai is seeking a Commis to support kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, cooking, and maintaining a clean work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, portion, chop, and store ingredients; wash and peel fruits and vegetables.
- Cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
- Monitor food quality, test doneness, and ensure proper portioning and serving.
- Set up and break down work stations, clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, knives, and equipment.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of related kitchen experience.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
Required skills
- Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
- Measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients accurately.
- Food safety and hygiene practices, including temperature checks.
