Compliance Lead

About the role

Tamara, a fintech platform in Saudi Arabia and the GCC, is hiring a Regulatory Compliance Lead in Dubai. The role supports the Head of Compliance in running the annual Compliance Programme at Tamara, a finance company licensed and regulated by the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE). It reports directly to the Head of Compliance and covers risk-based reviews, regulatory change and engagement with the CBUAE, including supervisory inspections, RFIs and regulatory reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Support the annual Compliance Programme, conduct risk-based reviews, thematic reviews and inspections, and document findings, gaps and remediation actions
• Prepare compliance inspection reports and agree remediation owners and timelines with departments
• Maintain the compliance monitoring plan, obligations register, issue tracker and remediation follow-up process
• Keep the CBUAE Regulatory Notice Register, assess new requirements and coordinate their internal implementation
• Support CBUAE engagement: inspections, RFIs, regulatory walkthroughs, evidence collection, observation tracking and regulatory reporting
• Advise business teams on consumer protection standards, market conduct and customer communications, support compliance training and escalate material issues to the Head of Compliance
• Support periodic reporting to senior management and Board committees

Required profile

• 5-8 years of regulatory compliance experience in a regulated financial institution, fintech, finance company, bank or payment service provider
• Demonstrated experience engaging with the CBUAE in a comparable role, including RFIs, inspections and remediation
• Bachelor's degree in law, finance, business or a related field
• Fluency in Arabic is preferred

Required skills

• Working knowledge of CBUAE Consumer Protection Standards, conduct risk and regulatory change management
• Experience with CBUAE regulatory reporting and submission systems
• Strong report writing, analytical and stakeholder-management skills
• A compliance certification such as CAMS or ICA is an advantage
