Compliance Monitoring Manager

About the role

Pier Seven Aviation is looking for an experienced Compliance Monitoring Manager to lead and continuously improve its compliance monitoring program (CMP) and compliance management system (CMS). Reporting to the Accountable Manager, the role provides independent assurance that the company's activities meet civil aviation requirements and internal standards, coordinates audits, supports teams in addressing findings and keeps management, staff and regulators informed.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the compliance monitoring system: implement, maintain and review the CMP and CMS, recommend compliance indicators, establish the CMS policy and track regulatory changes
• Coordinate CMS review meetings, present audit results and follow up on agreed actions, reporting findings, non-compliances and significant risks directly to the Accountable Manager
• Plan and run audits, surveys and investigations across functions, assess compliance with regulations and policies, and review corrective and preventive actions for effectiveness and root cause
• Keep clear records of findings, evidence, ownership and progress, and ensure audits are carried out by independent personnel, including overseeing external auditors and assessing contracted service providers
• Provide or coordinate training for staff and support the development of internal auditors
• Report significant non-conformities to the EASA, GCAA and other CAA, notify them of major incidents and changes to qualified devices, and liaise with regulators and external organisations
• Work with business departments on day-to-day compliance, escalate reputational risks, and keep secure, current compliance records

Required profile

• At least three years of experience in quality assurance or compliance monitoring in aviation
• Aviation industry or operational experience, with a sound understanding of applicable regulations and processes
• Training in compliance management principles and auditing techniques in aviation environments
• Familiarity with civil aviation regulations and the technical background to understand the organisation's systems
• Strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills, with clear written and verbal communication

Desirable: experience as a nominated post holder or compliance lead, managing compliance or safety management systems, regulatory approvals or service provider oversight, a recognised quality or auditor qualification, mentoring internal auditors, or a relevant aviation, engineering or quality management qualification.
