Connected Asset Data Specialist - Regulatory Compliance

About the role

Caterpillar is hiring a Connected Asset Data Specialist for its Regulatory Compliance career area, based in Dubai. The role supports enterprise regulatory compliance by helping internal clients and engaging with industry associations, focusing on regulatory requirements for product data from engine, machine and power system products and their digital applications, mainly in the Middle East and Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Support identification, understanding and communication of regulatory requirements for product data.
• Contribute to tools and processes for regulatory compliance and data governance.
• Work with design teams on product and application compliance reviews.
• Review technical publications such as Operations and Maintenance Manuals and Special Instructions for compliance matters.
• Keep up to date on industry standards and regulatory requirements and communicate them to team members and clients.
• Develop and monitor compliance metrics.
• Represent the company in industry association engagements and influence draft legislation with regulatory bodies.
• Manage complex projects and lead teams through technical issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, engineering technology or a similar field; a non-technical degree is acceptable with the required experience.
• 4+ years of job-related experience in engineering, data science and compliance roles.
• Ability to negotiate, build consensus and work with clients and internal partners at all levels.
• Comfortable in a rapidly evolving regulatory and commercial environment.

Required skills

• Preferred: radio or data communications and asset connectivity, telematics certification, data regulations and digital app development.
• Preferred: engineering development or validation with mobile machines, engines or power systems.
• Preferred: Arabic and English, French a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication, leadership and project management skills.
