Construction Storekeeper

About the role

The Construction Storekeeper is responsible for managing all materials, tools, and inventory within the project store or warehouse. This role ensures accurate receipt, storage, issuance, and documentation of items while supporting project efficiency and safety compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct continuous checks on material validity, ensuring items are within approved shelf life and expiration dates.
• Ensure materials are issued only after proper procedures, approvals, and required signatures.
• Maintain organization, sorting, and cleanliness of the store/warehouse at all times.
• Receive incoming stock, verify quantities, and accurately record materials in the inventory system.
• Maintain daily inventory records and provide continuous reporting on store transactions and project assets.
• Inspect and verify incoming materials against purchase orders; document and track damages, shortages, or discrepancies.
• Handle documentation for storage and transportation of hazardous materials in compliance with safety standards.
• Tag, code, and track all stored materials and assets, preparing lists for issued or returned items.
• Safeguard and manage storage of documents and confidential files, including records of approved document destruction.
• Report canceled, damaged, or obsolete items promptly and prepare stock issuance and receipt vouchers for Head Office.

Required profile

• High school diploma or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience as a Storekeeper or Warehouse Assistant, preferably in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, tools, and inventory management practices.
