Senior Wet Utilities Design Engineer

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Senior Wet Utilities Design Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex water, wastewater and irrigation systems in Abu Dhabi. The role involves developing efficient, code‑compliant solutions, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise large‑scale engineering projects, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules and quality standards.
• Lead engineers and designers, providing technical guidance and driving continuous improvement.
• Prepare design calculations, hydraulic models, and detailed specifications using Bentley WaterCAD/WaterGEMS, Hammer, WANDA and other industry tools.
• Ensure designs comply with local regulations (DEWA, ADDC, DM, etc.) and obtain necessary approvals and NOCs.
• Develop operation and maintenance manuals, conduct on‑site training, and perform reliability, availability, maintenance (RAM) and safety analyses.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) with 8‑12 years of experience in water/wastewater or wet utilities design; Master’s degree preferred.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts effectively.
• Strong knowledge of Gulf region regulations and British/American design codes.
• Experience working in the UAE or similar Gulf markets is advantageous.
