Consultant Family Medicine Physician – Abu Dhabi

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Consultant Family Medicine Physician to join a leading healthcare provider in Abu Dhabi. The role involves delivering comprehensive, patient‑centred primary care across all age groups, with a strong emphasis on prevention, chronic disease management, and holistic health education.

Key responsibilities

• Provide family medicine and primary healthcare services for individuals and families.
• Diagnose, treat and manage acute and chronic conditions using evidence‑based practices.
• Conduct preventive health assessments, wellness screenings and routine examinations.
• Manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, asthma, thyroid disorders and lifestyle‑related conditions.
• Offer health education, vaccinations, and lifestyle‑modification counseling.
• Deliver comprehensive care covering women’s health, men’s health, adolescent and geriatric services.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate specialist referrals.
• Maintain accurate medical records in line with DOH standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and quality of care.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality‑improvement projects, CME activities and departmental meetings.

Required profile

• MBBS/MD or equivalent medical qualification.
• Board certification or recognized postgraduate qualification in Family Medicine.
• 5‑10 years of post‑specialisation experience at consultant level.
• Eligibility for, or possession of, a Department of Health (DOH) – Abu Dhabi Consultant licence.
• Strong clinical expertise in primary care, preventive medicine and chronic disease management.
• Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal abilities.
