Consultant General Surgeon – Senior Position in UAE

About the role

A leading, internationally accredited healthcare provider in the UAE is expanding its general, laparoscopic and emergency surgical services. The organization seeks an experienced Consultant General Surgeon to join a multidisciplinary clinical team and deliver high‑quality care to a diverse international patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage elective and emergency general surgery patients.
• Perform open and laparoscopic procedures within the scope of specialty and facility privileges.
• Provide peri‑operative care, complication management, ward rounds and outpatient follow‑up.
• Collaborate with anaesthesia, ICU, radiology, gastro‑enterology, oncology and emergency teams.
• Contribute to surgical pathways, theatre efficiency, infection prevention and patient safety programs.
• Maintain accurate consent forms, operative notes, discharge summaries and clinical documentation.

Required profile

• Internationally recognised specialist qualification (e.g., American Board of Surgery, UK CCT/FRCS, European Board, Royal College of Canada, Australian FRACS, Arab Board, MS/DNB/FCPS).
• Eligibility for UAE medical licensing and facility credentialing.
• Experience in both open and laparoscopic general surgery.
