Consultant Physician – Hematology & Oncology

About the role

The Consultant Physician in Hematology & Oncology leads the delivery of high‑quality, evidence‑based care for patients across the division. This senior clinician provides clinical excellence, mentorship to junior staff, and contributes to departmental performance and quality improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, manage and treat patients according to best‑practice standards, overseeing both inpatient and outpatient care.
• Lead ward rounds, multi‑disciplinary meetings and ensure appropriate documentation and follow‑up.
• Supervise junior medical staff, providing training, guidance and performance review.
• Participate in on‑call rotation, covering evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Support recruitment, scheduling, and ensure adequate medical coverage within the division.
• Drive quality improvement, audit activities and incident reporting.
• Promote continued medical education, clinical research and publication.

Required profile

• Board‑certified in Hematology & Oncology with at least 2 years post‑certification experience (or equivalent Tier 2 experience).
• Current national medical license and proof of yearly CME.
• Experience in an internationally accredited institute; clinical fellowship from approved countries may count double.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
