Consultant Psychiatrist – Full‑time in Ajman, UAE

About the role

A leading, internationally accredited healthcare provider in the United Arab Emirates is expanding its Psychiatry, Mental Health and Behavioural Health services. The organization seeks an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join a multidisciplinary clinical team delivering patient‑centred care to a diverse international population.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including history taking, mental status examination, clinical evaluation and risk assessment.
• Diagnose and manage a wide spectrum of mental health conditions such as mood, anxiety, psychotic, personality and behavioural disorders.
• Develop individualized treatment plans that integrate evidence‑based pharmacotherapy, psychopharmacology, psychotherapy and behavioural interventions.
• Monitor treatment response, medication effectiveness and adverse effects, adjusting plans as needed.
• Assess and manage acute psychiatric presentations, emergencies and crisis situations.
• Provide adult and general psychiatry care across outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Collaborate with psychologists, therapists, social workers, primary‑care physicians and other specialists to ensure integrated care.
• Offer counselling and education to patients and families regarding diagnoses and treatment options.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or equivalent psychiatrist with international training.
• Extensive experience in adult, clinical psychiatry and psychopharmacology.
• Proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Strong clinical judgment and capability to handle psychiatric emergencies.
