Consultant Psychiatrist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join a leading healthcare facility in Dubai. The role involves delivering comprehensive psychiatric care, managing complex cases, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric consultations, assessments, diagnosis, and treatment for a wide range of mental health conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy, and multidisciplinary interventions.
• Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications, and manage psychiatric emergencies.
• Coordinate with psychologists, neurologists, primary care physicians, and other specialists.
• Supervise and mentor junior physicians and mental health professionals.
• Participate in clinical audits, research, teaching, and CME activities.

Required profile

• MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree with recognized postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry.
• Board certification or equivalent consultant qualification; fellowship or advanced subspecialty training is highly desirable.
• Minimum 5-10 years post‑specialization experience in Psychiatry.
• Eligible for DHA Consultant classification/license in Dubai.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, leadership, and patient‑management skills.

Required skills

• Expertise in psychopharmacology and psychiatric assessment.
• Experience in crisis intervention and long‑term psychiatric care.
