Consultant Visceral Surgeon

About the role

A leading healthcare facility in the UAE is looking for an experienced Consultant Visceral Surgeon to provide advanced surgical care for patients with complex gastrointestinal conditions. The position is based on site in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and surgically manage diseases of the abdominal organs and digestive system
• Perform open and minimally invasive procedures on the stomach, intestines, colon, gallbladder and other abdominal organs
• Manage hernias, gallstones, intestinal obstruction, gastrointestinal tumours and inflammatory bowel diseases requiring surgery
• Assess patients comprehensively and design individualized surgical treatment plans
• Provide pre-operative evaluation and post-operative care, and manage surgical emergencies and complications
• Collaborate with gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists and other specialists
• Supervise junior medical staff and contribute to clinical quality improvement

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• Postgraduate qualification in General Surgery, Visceral Surgery or an equivalent surgical specialty
• Significant post-specialization experience at Consultant level
• Experience in open and minimally invasive abdominal surgery
• Strong surgical judgment, clinical leadership and communication skills
