Cost Accountant

About the role

The Cost Accountant will analyse, process and maintain non‑engineering financial transactions for Air Arabia, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accounting controls and audit documents, alerting management to any discrepancies.
• Prepare and monitor financial entries in Sage X3, ensuring accuracy and proper cost element classification.
• Handle invoice matching, approvals, and vendor payments, including bank transfers and cheque processing.
• Reconcile company accounts, including accruals, reversals, and inter‑company transactions on a monthly basis.
• Prepare periodic MIS reports, ageing analysis, and support external auditors during audit schedules.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce; professional accounting qualification preferred.
• 3+ years of corporate finance/accounting experience, at least 2 years in cost accounting, preferably in the airline industry.
• Strong knowledge of the accounting cycle, SFAS concepts and audit procedures.
• High numerical accuracy, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Sage X3 accounting system.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access) competency.
• Fluent English language proficiency.
