Country Business Head - Dubai

About the role

A leading regional bank is seeking an experienced banking executive to lead its Dubai operations. The role combines strategic oversight, business growth, and regulatory compliance for the country’s branch network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead overall business strategy, performance and operations of the bank’s Dubai branch.
• Develop and execute growth strategies across corporate, commercial, SME, treasury and trade finance portfolios.
• Drive profitability, revenue growth, customer acquisition and market share while maintaining strong risk and compliance culture.
• Build and strengthen relationships with key clients, regulators, government authorities and strategic stakeholders across the UAE.
• Ensure full compliance with all applicable UAE banking regulations and governance requirements.
• Identify new business opportunities and develop strategic initiatives to enhance market presence.
• Oversee operational efficiency, service excellence, business continuity, audit and regulatory compliance across country operations.
• Lead, mentor and develop high‑performing teams, fostering accountability and customer‑centricity.
• Collaborate with regional and head‑office leadership to deliver strategic objectives and cross‑border initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Banking or a related discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of banking experience, including 10–15 years with a UAE bank.
• At least 5 years in a country leadership or senior banking operations role.
• Strong expertise in Corporate Banking, Trade Finance, Treasury and Relationship Management.
• Proven success in managing P&L, driving business growth and leading multi‑functional banking operations.
• Deep knowledge of the UAE banking landscape, regulatory environment and market dynamics.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
