Data Center Facilities Lead Engineer

About the role

Alibaba Cloud is seeking a Data Center Facilities Lead Engineer to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of mission‑critical infrastructure across its Dubai data centre sites. The role involves on‑site facilities operations, incident and change management, and continuous improvement of critical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliant operation of electrical, mechanical, cooling, fire protection and monitoring systems.
• Lead on‑site response to facilities incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee planned changes, preventive maintenance and routine inspections with proper documentation.
• Monitor capacity, energy efficiency and reliability metrics, driving improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical support for complex site issues and contribute to equipment selection and upgrades.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Facilities Engineering or related field.
• Relevant experience in data centre facilities, mission‑critical or large‑scale commercial environments.
• Proven ability to manage incidents, maintenance activities and operational risks in high‑availability settings.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication and coordination skills.
• Multilingual ability is a plus, especially Chinese.
