About the role
Amazon Web Services is seeking a Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer to support AWS data centers in Abu Dhabi. The role involves hands‑on troubleshooting and operation of electrical and mechanical infrastructure, ensuring safety and reliability for customers.
Key responsibilities
- Operate and maintain UPS, switchgear, circuit breakers, ATS, diesel generators, chillers, HVAC, exhaust fans, VFDs and transformers.
- Perform root‑cause analysis of equipment failures and drive cost‑reducing innovations.
- Follow strict safety standards, lead remediation of safety risks, and own safety initiatives.
- Work rotational 12‑hour shifts, respond to on‑call emergencies, and supervise contractor maintenance.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related technical field.
- Knowledge of electrical theory and mechanical/HVAC systems.
- 2+ years of data‑center engineering experience preferred.
