Demi Chef de Partie - Catch Kitchen

About the role

The St. Regis Abu Dhabi, a Forbes Travel Guide 5-Star hotel with 283 guest rooms and 55 suites, is looking for a Demi Chef de Partie for its catch kitchen. The role is full-time and non-management, based at the Nation Tower in Corniche, Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals or substitute items and prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and the food preparation checklist.
• Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters, and pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator.
• Ensure proper portion, arrangement and garnish, and maintain food logs while monitoring the quality and quantity of food prepared.
• Prepare cold foods and inform the Chef of excess food items for daily specials.
• Tell Food & Beverage service staff about menu specials and out-of-stock items, and communicate assistance needed during busy periods.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counselling, disciplining and motivating staff, and act as a role model.
• Follow company, safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, complete safety training and certifications, and keep a clean, professional appearance.

Required profile

• Preferred: a technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Preferred: at least 3 years of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Physical ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, bend, twist and lift objects up to 25 pounds without assistance.
