Demi Chef de Partie

About the role

The First Group Hospitality, a Dubai-headquartered hospitality management company, is hiring a Demi Chef de Partie in Abu Dhabi. The role supports the management of an assigned kitchen section and helps prepare, cook and present food to the highest standards of quality, consistency, hygiene and service within an exclusive luxury destination. It works closely with the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chef de Partie in running the daily operation of the assigned kitchen section.
• Prepare and cook food to approved recipes, menus and presentation standards, and complete mise en place.
• Support food production for regular service, private functions, events and special requests.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, portioning and presentation, and follow storage, labelling, dating, stock rotation and temperature-control procedures.
• Coordinate Commis I, Commis II and Kitchen Assistants, and guide them on preparation and service.
• Keep the section stocked and report shortages, quality or equipment issues to the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
• Help with stock checks, requisitions, receiving and storage, and assist in training junior colleagues.
• Maintain a clean, organised workstation and comply with food-safety, hygiene and workplace-safety requirements.
• Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Required profile

• Culinary qualification, certificate, diploma or equivalent practical training.
• Previous experience as a Demi Chef de Partie, Commis I or in a similar kitchen role; hot/cold kitchen, pastry or butchery experience is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, equipment and presentation.
• Teamwork, organisation and time-management skills, and ability to work in a busy kitchen.
• Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
