Design Engineer – Storage Solutions & Custom Composite Structures

About the role

The Design Engineer – Storage Solutions & Custom Composite Structures & Piping will lead the design, analysis, certification and application engineering of reinforced thermoset plastic (RTP) vessels, tanks and piping systems. You will work with industry standards such as ASME RTP‑1, ASME NM.2, EN 13121, AWWA M45 and API 15LR/15HR to deliver safe, reliable storage solutions for our clients in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Review RFQs, specifications and drawings to propose technically compliant composite solutions.
• Develop and certify design calculations, drawings and specifications in line with relevant codes.
• Perform stress/strain, hydraulic and pipe‑sizing analyses and verify designs.
• Define laminate architectures, reinforcement sequences and corrosion‑barrier configurations.
• Prepare technical tender packages, design reports and regulatory submittals.
• Approve fabrication, layout and shop drawings to ensure manufacturability and code compliance.
• Support composite fabrication processes including filament winding, contact molding, secondary bonding and post‑cure.
• Collaborate with Sales, Project Engineering, QA/QC, Manufacturing and Operations teams.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of mechanical design, piping applications and laminate mechanics.
• Experience with composite fabrication methods such as filament winding and contact molding.
• Ability to conduct engineering calculations and prepare detailed technical documentation.
• Familiarity with relevant standards (ASME RTP‑1, ASME NM.2, EN 13121, AWWA M45, API 15LR/15HR, BS 4994).
