Director - Data Privacy Officer

About the role

The Director – Data Privacy Officer leads the design, rollout and governance of a global data privacy program, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other privacy laws across all jurisdictions where the company operates.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the enterprise‑wide privacy strategy, governance model, policies, standards and controls.
• Lead privacy risk assessments, DPIAs, transfer impact assessments and embed privacy by design into projects, platforms and vendor onboarding.
• Oversee records of processing activities, data inventories, retention standards and audit readiness.
• Serve as senior advisor to the Chief Compliance Officer and executive leadership on privacy risks, regulatory trends and strategic initiatives.
• Coordinate privacy incident response, regulatory notifications and act as primary contact for supervisors and auditors.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in data privacy, data protection or related governance roles, including senior leadership in multinational organisations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Governance, Cybersecurity, Business, Compliance or related field.
• Strong hands‑on GDPR experience and proven ability to design and roll out a global privacy program.
• Experience engaging with regulators, auditors and external counsel on privacy matters.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of GDPR and other applicable privacy regulations.
• Expertise in privacy governance, DPIAs, records of processing, data subject rights and breach response.
• Ability to partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to embed privacy by design.
