Director – Editorial Strategy & Content

About the role

An experienced editorial leader is sought to oversee Arabic and English content production across multiple platforms. The role leads content strategy, editorial governance and quality assurance, so that all written communications reflect the organisation's strategic priorities, tone and messaging.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, production and review of Arabic and English content across digital, corporate and publication channels.
• Develop editorial frameworks, style guidelines and quality standards for consistent, accurate and culturally appropriate messaging.
• Review and approve high-profile content, ensuring alignment with approved narratives and communication objectives.
• Work with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to turn strategic priorities into editorial plans.
• Develop and deliver departmental objectives, operational plans, budgets and performance measures.
• Establish content policies, workflows and review processes, driving continuous improvement in quality and delivery.
• Lead workforce planning, resource allocation and team performance, coaching and developing editorial talent.
• Provide executive reports on departmental performance, priorities and improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Political Science, Arabic, English, Content Management or a related discipline; a master's degree is preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, including leadership in content strategy, editorial management and multilingual content production.
• Experience managing senior stakeholders, multidisciplinary teams, budgets and complex content requirements.
• Strong understanding of sensitive communications, cultural context and confidential information.
