Director of Operations & Business Development

About the role

This senior position leads both operational performance and commercial growth for a fast‑growing manufacturing engineering business operating in the process systems and energy sector. Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will steer multidisciplinary teams across engineering, proposals, business development and project execution while travelling internationally as required.

Key responsibilities

• Drive international business development and market expansion across Oil & Gas, Water, Power and Energy infrastructure.
• Lead technical proposals, commercial bids, costing and tender strategy to secure new contracts.
• Manage project execution, delivery performance, quality control and margin protection.
• Build strategic partnerships and strengthen relationships with global clients.
• Establish scalable operational frameworks to support long‑term organisational growth.
• Oversee sourcing and execution strategies involving international fabrication and supply‑chain partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 18+ years of progressive leadership experience in EPC, process engineering or modular systems.
• Proven track record in business development and commercial bidding.
• Extensive experience managing international clients, projects and multicultural teams.
• Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis.
