Director of Sales (Hotel)

About the role

Provide strategic leadership to the Sales function of Swissôtel Al Murooj Dubai, positioning the property as a preferred destination for business, leisure, MICE and extended‑stay guests. Develop and implement sales objectives across rooms, suites, apartments, food & beverage and events to drive sustainable commercial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the annual Sales Business Plan, departmental budget and strategic roadmap aligned with the hotel’s overall objectives.
• Collaborate with the General Manager and Director of Revenue on pricing, market segmentation, forecasting and commercial strategy.
• Analyse market conditions, competitor performance and demand trends to identify growth opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Lead the acquisition, development and retention of high‑value corporate, government and travel‑agency accounts through structured account plans and regular engagement.
• Drive demand and conversion for MICE, group, wedding and social‑event business, working closely with Revenue Management, Events and Food & Beverage teams.
• Build, coach and motivate a high‑performing Sales team, establishing clear KPIs and conducting regular performance reviews.

Required profile

• Proven senior sales leadership experience in the hospitality sector, with a track record of achieving revenue, ADR and market‑share targets.
• Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills and ability to develop strategic plans based on market intelligence.
• Excellent relationship‑building capabilities with corporate, government and travel‑industry partners.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and inspire a sales team in a fast‑paced hotel environment.
