Director of Sales - MICE and Groups

About the role

The Director of Sales - MICE and Groups assists in leading the property's segmented sales effort (group, transient, association, corporate, etc.), implementing the segment sales strategy and achieving segment revenue goals, property revenue goals and guest and employee satisfaction. The role focuses on building long-term, value-based customer relationships and achieving personal booking goals.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the sales leader to understand and implement the sales strategy, and help create and run a sales plan covering revenue, customers and the market.
• Help design and run an aggressive solicitation programme and internal and external promotions.
• Set personal booking goals and recommend booking goals for sales team members.
• Approve space release for catering when no Business Evaluation Manager is present, and take part in sales calls to win and close business.
• Handle the operational side of booked business, such as proposals, contracts and customer correspondence.
• Analyse market data with sales systems, support Revenue Management with six-period projections, and review guest satisfaction results.
• Lead guest hospitality, collect feedback from guests and staff, and embed guest satisfaction into department meetings.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders and off-property sales channels, and attend trade shows and sales missions.

Required profile

• A 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management or a related major, with 3 years of sales and marketing experience; or
• A 4-year bachelor's degree in a similar field, with 1 year of sales and marketing experience.
