Duty Technician – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

Accor is seeking a Duty Technician to join the maintenance team at Sofitel Dubai The Palm, a 5‑star beachfront resort. The role involves responding to guest calls, handling work orders, and ensuring the smooth operation of hotel facilities across multiple trades.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to guest calls and departmental work orders, prioritising guest‑occupied rooms and villas.
• Perform first‑line repairs in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, minor carpentry, locks and general maintenance.
• Carry out scheduled plant‑room rounds and record readings for chillers, boilers, pumps, water tanks, pools and generators.
• Monitor the building management system and fire alarm panel, escalating alarms to the Duty Engineer as needed.
• Participate in emergency response actions such as fire, flooding, power failure, lift entrapment and gas leaks.
• Conduct preventive maintenance tasks and supervise contractors during the shift.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical certificate in electrical, mechanical or HVAC engineering, or an equivalent trade qualification.
• Minimum three years of multi‑skilled maintenance experience, preferably in a 5‑star hotel or resort.

Required skills

• Knowledge of electrical systems (LV).
• Proficiency in plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Familiarity with building management systems and fire safety systems.
