EDD Specialist – UAE Only

About the role

The Governance, Consumer & Wealth Management Compliance unit is looking for an EDD Specialist to support anti‑money laundering, counter‑terrorist financing and sanctions compliance across the bank. The role focuses on conducting enhanced due diligence, investigating triggers and red flags, and delivering clear risk assessments.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct enhanced due diligence and investigate customer triggers, red flags and referrals, providing clear risk assessments and recommendations.
• Follow up with business units and internal departments to obtain required information and ensure timely closure of reviews.
• Support AML, CTF and sanctions‑related investigations, including transaction analysis and escalation of identified risks.
• Maintain accurate records, trackers, internal watchlists and management information relating to EDD reviews and investigations.
• Assist the EDD Supervisor with compliance initiatives, remediation activities, projects and ad‑hoc requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of overall banking experience, including 2–3 years in a sanctions compliance role.
• Strong knowledge of AML, transaction monitoring, customer screening and sanctions requirements.
• Broad understanding of relevant local and international regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical, investigative, communication and time‑management skills with high attention to detail.
• Secondary and tertiary education; ACAMS or another compliance‑related qualification preferred.
