Electrical Purchaser

About the role

The Electrical Purchaser will manage the procurement of materials, equipment, and services for electrical projects, ensuring optimal pricing, timely delivery, and compliance with project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior purchasing staff in procuring materials, equipment hire, labour hire, sub‑contracts and services according to company policies.
• Obtain, review and compare supplier quotes, place orders and monitor delivery schedules.
• Maintain accurate purchase and inventory records and monitor supplier performance.
• Collaborate with project, site and divisional managers to understand material requirements and ensure they are met.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and report them to management.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal and project specification requirements.

Required profile

• Graduation in Commerce or a Diploma in Engineering; supply‑chain certification is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of project material purchasing experience in an electrical contracting environment (high voltage, low voltage, solar, energy‑saving projects).
• Strong organizational, time‑management and attention‑to‑detail skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems, especially the MM module; SAP experience is a plus.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and MS Office skills.
