Energy Consultant – Early Career

About the role

GHD, a multidisciplinary professional services firm, is expanding its Middle East Energy team and is looking for an Energy Consultant. You will build technical and consulting experience across electricity networks, renewable energy, energy storage, system integration and energy strategy, working alongside experienced engineers, consultants and project managers on feasibility and options studies, engineering assessments and advisory assignments for utilities, governments, developers and major energy users. The role suits an early-career professional with about one to two years of relevant experience.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to multidisciplinary energy projects across electricity networks, renewables, energy storage, system integration and energy strategy.
• Support feasibility and options studies, engineering design and assessments, and technical advisory assignments.
• Collect, review and analyse technical, operational and project information.
• Assist in reviewing drawings, calculations, specifications, equipment data and other technical documentation.
• Prepare technical inputs for reports, presentations, bids and client deliverables.
• Work with regional and global teams and take part in project, client and site meetings where appropriate.
• Manage assigned tasks to agreed programme, governance and health and safety requirements.
• Support growth initiatives within the Middle East Energy team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Energy or Power Engineering or a related discipline.
• Early-career experience in consulting, utilities, project development, engineering or a related energy-sector environment.
• Foundational understanding of energy systems, with exposure to one or more areas such as electricity networks, renewables, energy storage, energy analysis or system integration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good written and verbal English, and good digital capability.

Required skills

• Confidence with standard Microsoft applications.
• Aptitude for learning engineering, AI, data-analysis and energy-modelling tools.
