English Faculty – General Studies

About the role

The English Faculty member will deliver effective English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction to second-language learners within a student-centric environment. The role supports HCT’s strategic objectives, contributes to policy development, and participates in academic and community activities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver curriculum-aligned courses using practical, applied teaching methods.
• Integrate educational technology tools to enhance learning experiences.
• Provide continuous assessment, feedback, and grading through tests, projects, and assignments.
• Advise and mentor students, including at-risk learners, interns, and work-placement participants.
• Conduct applied research aligned with the division’s interests and national innovation priorities.
• Participate in conferences, serve on faculty and institutional committees, and sponsor student groups.

Required profile

• Relevant academic qualifications in English, Linguistics, or Education.
• Experience teaching English to non-native speakers in higher education.
• Demonstrated ability to develop student-centered learning environments.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to cultural respect.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using educational technology platforms for instruction and assessment.
• Ability to design curriculum and assessment materials.
• Research skills for applied studies and conference participation.
