Estimator

About the role

The Estimator will develop accurate cost assessments for a variety of projects, supporting successful planning and execution. This role involves analysing project proposals, blueprints and collaborating with multiple departments to ensure estimates align with financial goals.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze project specifications and blueprints to determine key requirements.
• Develop detailed cost estimates by evaluating labour, materials and equipment needs.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and project managers to gather information.
• Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and reports for stakeholders.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure optimal pricing.
• Monitor market trends and incorporate them into estimates.
• Attend site visits to validate project specifics.
• Maintain a database of performance metrics for future estimates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Proven experience as an Estimator or similar role.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of local building codes and safety standards is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency in estimation software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
