Expert - Innovation & Pioneering

About the role

The Innovation & Pioneering Expert will provide subject‑matter expertise and strategic support to drive research, knowledge creation and innovative initiatives that align with RTA’s future‑readiness goals. The role ensures excellence standards, award participation and partnership programmes are effectively implemented and continuously improved.

Key responsibilities

• Define vision and strategy for pioneering, research, innovation and creativity across the organisation.
• Plan and oversee excellence requirements, award participation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Co‑develop and supervise comprehensive management plans, measuring outcomes and recommending best practices.
• Track global trends, align organisational plans and propose initiatives to maintain leadership positions.
• Advise senior leadership on specialised matters, manage central databases for research, IP and partnerships.
• Lead implementation of innovation projects, select consultants and monitor progress.
• Develop and operate innovation labs, institutional research plans and partnership programmes.
• Provide policy, manual and process expertise for intellectual planning management at authority level.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science or Business Administration.
• 12+ years of experience for Master’s holders (14+ years for Bachelor’s holders) in innovation, research or strategic development.
• Proven ability to lead large‑scale innovation programmes and manage cross‑functional initiatives.
