Faculty – Health Sciences (Health Information Management)

About the role

The Higher Colleges of Technology seeks a full‑time faculty member for the Health Sciences division, focusing on Health Information Management. The role involves delivering instruction to second‑language learners, contributing to academic and community activities, and supporting the institution’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and develop curriculum for Health Information Management courses, employing educational technology and student‑centered methods.
• Assess student performance through tests, projects, assignments and maintain accurate grade records.
• Provide academic advising, mentorship during internships, and support at‑risk students.
• Conduct applied research aligned with national innovation priorities and present findings at conferences.
• Participate in faculty, program and system‑wide committees, and sponsor student groups.
• Maintain teaching facilities, manage course content and assessments, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coach and mentor junior staff, and support recruitment and development of UAE nationals.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, or a Master’s degree with professional certification and at least 5 years of teaching and industry experience; a Bachelor’s degree with extensive industry experience may also be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in the relevant field and preferably 3 years of industry experience.
• Experience in curriculum development meeting accreditation and international standards.
• Proficiency in integrating educational technology into teaching and assessment.
