Faculty Position – Emergency Medical Services (Paramedic)

About the role

Provide effective instruction in Health Sciences Emergency Medical Services (Paramedic) to second-language learners, engage in applied research, and actively participate in academic and community activities.

Key responsibilities

• Teach courses using practical, applied approaches aligned with syllabus and program goals, incorporating educational technology.
• Develop and manage assessments, provide continuous feedback, and maintain accurate grading records.
• Advise and mentor students, support internships, and monitor at-risk progress.
• Conduct applied research relevant to the division’s interests and national innovation agenda, and present at conferences.
• Serve on faculty, program, campus, and system-wide committees and sponsor student groups.
• Maintain teaching facilities, prepare course assessment files, and contribute to curriculum revision.
• Coach and mentor junior staff, support recruitment of UAE nationals, and promote organizational resilience.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, or a Master’s degree with professional certification and at least 5 years of teaching and industry experience; a Bachelor’s with extensive industry experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in the relevant discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience, preferably in emergency medical services.
• Experience developing curriculum in line with accreditation and international standards.
• Proficiency in incorporating educational technology into teaching and assessment strategies.
