Faculty Position in Applied Media (Digital Media)

About the role

The Higher Colleges of Technology is seeking a full‑time faculty member to teach Applied Media with a focus on Digital Media. The role involves delivering curriculum to second‑language learners, supporting student success, and contributing to the institution’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver applied media courses, using educational technology and practical approaches aligned with program objectives.
• Assess student performance through tests, projects, and assignments, providing continuous feedback and maintaining accurate grades.
• Advise and mentor students, including at‑risk individuals, and support internships and work placements.
• Conduct applied research relevant to the faculty’s interests and national innovation priorities, and present findings at conferences.
• Participate in faculty, program, and system‑wide committees, and serve as a sponsor or adviser to student groups.
• Maintain teaching facilities, manage course content and assessments, and contribute to curriculum revision and quality assurance.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, or a Master’s degree with professional certification and at least 5 years of teaching and industry experience; a Bachelor’s degree with extensive industry experience may also be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in the relevant field.
• Relevant industry experience (preferred) and experience developing curricula meeting accreditation and international standards.
• Proficiency in incorporating educational technology into teaching and assessment.
