Fire Protection Engineer – Nuclear Power Plant

About the role

The Fire Protection Engineer will provide technical expertise for the Fire Protection (FP) program at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant. The role involves reviewing permits, conducting walk‑downs, and supporting the Initial Fire Response Team to ensure safe operation and maintenance of the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee fire prevention activities, review permits, and conduct plant inspections to identify inoperable FP equipment.
• Develop and maintain the Fire Safe Shutdown program, ensuring alignment with the Final Safety Analysis Report and regulatory guides.
• Analyze building structures, detection, suppression, and egress requirements, and verify compliance with NFPA codes and Regulatory Guide 1.189.
• Prepare and update FP reports such as Fire Hazard Analysis, Fire Safe Shutdown Analysis, and Multiple Spurious Operation reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant fire protection engineering experience.
