Firefighting Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Firefighting Engineer to lead the design, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of fire‑fighting and fire‑protection systems for our client projects in the UAE. The role ensures full compliance with NFPA standards, Civil Defence regulations and local authority codes.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve fire‑fighting system designs, including sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, fire pumps and foam/gas suppression systems.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and verify designs against NFPA 13/14/20 and local Civil Defence requirements.
• Supervise on‑site installation of fire‑pumps, piping networks, sprinkler heads and detection interfaces.
• Coordinate fire‑fighting works with other MEP disciplines and manage interface issues.
• Plan and lead flushing, hydrostatic and functional testing of fire‑pumps and complete system commissioning.
• Prepare commissioning reports and support Civil Defence inspections and NOC issuance.
• Maintain as‑built drawings, test certificates and O&M manuals, and hand over complete packages to operations/FM teams.
• Supervise technicians, foremen and subcontractors, and liaise with client representatives, consultants and authority engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Fire Protection Engineering or equivalent.
• 2‑4 years of experience in fire‑fighting systems design and execution, preferably in the UAE/GCC.
• NFPA certification (CFPS or similar) is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Dubai and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence approval procedures.
