Freelance Arabic Translator (Marketing & IT) – Remote

About the role

LocalEyes, a localization services provider for the computer and software sectors, is looking for a freelance Arabic translator to join its team remotely, based in Dubai. The work covers marketing and IT translations, linguistic review and QA, and terminology consistency through TMs, glossaries and style guides. The project is ongoing with a start date to be determined; work is project-based, with full days several times a year and flexible hours.

Key responsibilities

• Translate and localize marketing and IT content
• Review and proofread translations
• Check terminology consistency using TMs, glossaries and style guides
• Ensure high-quality deliverables in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

Required profile

• Native Arabic speaker with a degree in Applied Linguistics, Translation or equivalent experience
• Valid work authorization in the UAE (no visa sponsorship)
• Excellent written and spoken English, and familiarity with US American culture and pop culture
• Ability to work in a confidential environment, under pressure and with multiple changing priorities
• Availability of at least 4 hours per day and quick response times; ability to travel when needed

Required skills

• Knowledge of SDL Studio and other CAT tools
• Experience as a translator specializing in marketing and IT translation and proofreading
• Editorial and journalistic skills, up to date with language and terminology trends
