Gas Turbine Structural Engineer – Stress & Rotor Dynamics

About the role

POWERTECH is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to lead stress and vibration analysis of gas turbine components across turbojet and turbofan programs. The role involves designing, simulating, and validating engine structures to ensure safety, performance, and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Design and optimise gas turbine systems for life, weight, manufacturability and cost.
• Perform thermo‑mechanical, creep, fatigue, fracture, vibration and rotodynamic simulations under design and off‑design conditions.
• Conduct Stress, Low Cycle Fatigue and High Cycle Fatigue assessments and FMECA to support safety and operability.
• Develop and support FEA methodology, review designs, prepare engineering reports and testing guidelines.
• Mentor junior engineers and identify project risks with mitigation plans.

Required profile

• Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree or related field.
• 5‑15+ years of experience in gas turbine propulsion, mechanical design, and heat transfer.
• Strong background in mechanics of materials and whole‑engine structural analysis.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Siemens NX.
• Expertise in commercial FEA software (ANSYS, HyperWorks, Simcenter Nastran, etc.).
• Programming experience in C and Matlab/Simulink.
• Knowledge of FEA and lower‑order simulation methods.
