Gas Turbine Thermal System Engineer

About the role

PowerTech is seeking a Thermal System Design Engineer to lead gas turbine component thermal analysis, secondary air system, and oil system design within turbojet and turbofan development programs. The role combines advanced heat‑transfer expertise with project planning and mentorship responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform thermal analysis simulations for engine component thermal mapping.
• Assess steady‑state and transient thermal and secondary flows in gas‑turbine components.
• Design and size oil/lubrication systems, including seals, sump, bearings, and pumps.
• Develop and validate numerical and experimental methods.
• Support team members, mentor junior engineers, and provide constructive feedback.
• Review designs, generate testing guidelines, and identify project risks with mitigation plans.

Required profile

• Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering degree or related field.
• 5‑15 years of experience in gas‑turbine propulsion, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with commercial simulation tools such as ANSYS Workbench.
• Experience in FEA, CFD, or lower‑order simulation methods.
• Knowledge of 1D flow network software (e.g., Flomaster, Amesim).
• Programming skills in C, MATLAB/Simulink or similar.
