General Accountant – French Standards (Dubai)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced General Accountant to join our growing organisation in Dubai. The role involves managing day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, supporting statutory compliance, and contributing to month‑end and year‑end reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, record journal entries and reconcile financial transactions.
• Perform monthly bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Prepare and post accruals, pre‑payments and other month‑end adjustments.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities.
• Maintain fixed‑asset registers and capital‑expenditure documentation.
• Prepare financial reports and support management reporting.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards and local regulations, including VAT and tax reporting.
• Support external auditors during annual audits and provide required documentation.
• Perform inter‑company reconciliations and identify process‑improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of accounting or finance experience.
• Mandatory experience with French accounting standards.
• Previous experience at a Big 4 accounting firm.
• Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
