General Accountant

About the role

The General Accountant will join ADEAREST's Finance Department in Al Ain, supporting a full range of accounting functions. The role involves managing the general ledger, handling payables and receivables, and ensuring compliance with IFRS and UAE VAT regulations. You will work closely with internal teams to maintain accurate financial records and support reporting cycles.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the company’s general ledger by posting daily transactions and preparing monthly management accounts.
• Process supplier invoices, issue payments, and reconcile accounts payable.
• Generate and post customer invoices, record receipts, and manage accounts receivable aging.
• Perform bank, inter‑company and balance‑sheet reconciliations, ensuring proper documentation.
• Assist with inventory and inter‑company transaction reconciliations.
• Update the fixed‑asset register, recording acquisitions, disposals and depreciation.
• Prepare balance‑sheet, profit & loss and cash‑flow statements and support budgeting and forecasting.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with UAE FTA requirements.
• Support year‑end audit activities by preparing schedules and providing documentation.

Required profile

• Solid understanding of IFRS standards.
• Familiarity with UAE VAT regulations.
