General Director of Project Finance

About the role

Careers International is recruiting a General Director of Project Finance in Dubai within civil construction. The role covers financial strategy, budgeting, risk assessment, forecasting and reporting for projects, and leads the finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Study the company's financial situation and give actionable financial advice to support sound business decisions.
• Lead the development and management of project financial budgets aligned with company objectives, and assess and allocate financial resources to maximise project success and minimise risks.
• Identify financial risks in ongoing or upcoming projects and work with senior management to mitigate them; assess and recommend financial opportunities to optimise revenue and cost efficiency.
• Provide accurate financial forecasting and analysis, and continuously monitor performance against budget and KPIs.
• Prepare and deliver regular financial reports on project status, variances and corrective actions, and communicate financial insights and risks to management, project teams and other stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor and manage the finance team, ensuring they are trained, motivated and capable.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field; Master's degree or professional certifications such as CFA, CPA or ACCA preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in financial management, including at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role.
• Proven experience managing finances for large-scale projects or across multiple departments.
• Experience managing relationships with senior executives, stakeholders and external financial partners.

Required skills

• Expertise in financial management software and tools such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks and Excel.
• Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, able to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
