General Manager – Explosives Business

About the role

Arabian Explosives (AREX) is seeking an experienced, commercially focused General Manager to lead all aspects of its business operations in Ras Al Khaimah. Reporting to the Board, the role is responsible for driving growth, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and the development of people, products, and customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the AREX business.
• Develop and execute business growth, operational, and commercial strategies.
• Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operation of all manufacturing and operational facilities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, regulators, suppliers, shareholders, and industry stakeholders.
• Drive revenue growth, profitability, and sustainable business performance.
• Lead, develop, and motivate a multi‑disciplinary leadership team.
• Oversee capital projects, investments, and business development initiatives.
• Identify and deliver opportunities for operational improvement, innovation, and expansion.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Engineering, Mining, Chemistry, Business, or a related discipline.
• Extensive senior leadership experience within explosives, mining, quarrying, chemicals, manufacturing, or other high‑hazard industries.
• Strong commercial and financial management capability with P&L responsibility.
• Proven success leading complex operational businesses and delivering growth.
• Deep understanding of safety management, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Experience working in the Middle East or other international markets is advantageous.
