General Technician – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

The General Technician will respond to guest repair requests, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure the smooth operation of hotel facilities. This onsite role supports both guest rooms and back‑of‑house areas in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate resolutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room assets.
• Inspect, clean, lubricate, and troubleshoot air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic systems.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs.
• Use lockout/tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Maintain inventory, requisition parts, and document daily activities for shift handover.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, preferably in a hotel setting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and navigating stairs.
• Driver’s license.

Required skills

• Air‑conditioning and refrigeration knowledge.
• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Plumbing repair (e.g., unclogging drains, fixing toilets).
• Pneumatic/electronic system basics.
• Carpentry, painting, and drywall repair.
• Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.
• Basic computer skills for scheduling and inventory input.
