Head of Accounting

About the role

The client is a leading UAE‑based manufacturing and distribution business seeking a Head of Accounting to own the end‑to‑end accounting function. Reporting to the GM Finance, you will ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls and support business performance across operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily accounting activities including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual close in line with IFRS.
• Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, stock control and product costing.
• Drive external audits, VAT compliance and statutory reporting.
• Improve financial processes, controls and ERP utilisation.
• Develop and manage a team of six accounting professionals.
• Partner with operations, supply chain and commercial teams.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or Finance; ACCA, CPA or CMA advantageous.
• 10+ years of accounting experience in manufacturing, FMCG, industrial, logistics or distribution environments.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, cost accounting and inventory management.
• Proven experience managing month‑end close, audits and compliance.
• Leadership experience overseeing accounting teams.
