Head of American Curriculum

About the role

American Gulf School is looking for an inspirational and dynamic Head of American Curriculum to lead the expansion of its American programme. You will oversee curriculum design, teaching quality and staff development to ensure the school continues to deliver the high standards expected by parents.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a team of educators delivering the American curriculum.
• Design, review and continuously improve curriculum content and assessment practices.
• Engage effectively with students, parents and school staff.
• Plan and deliver professional development sessions using best‑practice methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and conduct necessary vetting procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum Master’s degree; Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction preferred.
• At least 5 years of teaching experience, preferably in an American or IB school.
• Native‑like English proficiency (IELTS 8+ or equivalent).
• Strong leadership, creativity and a commitment to academic excellence.
