Head of Content – Wasl Channel

About the role

Wasl Channel is looking for a dynamic Head of Content to lead its editorial team and drive day‑to‑day operations. Reporting to the Channel Lead, you will act as the central hub between content creators, production crews, presenters, reporters and client partners, ensuring that every piece of content aligns with the channel’s mission and community values.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow the content team (writers, researchers, field researchers) while shaping the overall content strategy.
• Develop, schedule and oversee monthly content plans that reflect local traditions and cultural sensitivities.
• Coordinate closely with the Head of Production to define the purpose of each story and prepare detailed briefs before filming.
• Serve as the primary liaison for presenters and field reporters, managing schedules, editorial direction and on‑site requirements.
• Manage client relationships, translating government and private‑sector requests into clear content specifications and deciding on internal handling or delegation.
• Maintain editorial quality, consistency and clarity across all outputs, with final approval transitioning from the Channel Lead to the Head of Content.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading content teams in a media or broadcasting environment.
• Strong understanding of community‑driven storytelling and cultural nuances.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Fluency in Arabic and English.
