Head of Facilities Management

About the role

The Ministry of Community Empowerment seeks a senior leader to direct the planning, maintenance, development and operational management of its entire facilities portfolio. The Head of Facilities Management will ensure that all buildings and assets are safe, sustainable, functional and ready to support the Ministry’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor annual preventive and corrective maintenance programmes for all Ministry facilities.
• Assess space and infrastructure needs of organisational units and propose suitable facilities solutions.
• Prepare technical specifications, engineering standards, scopes of work and cost estimates for maintenance, rehabilitation, renovation and capital‑improvement projects.
• Manage the execution of building development, refurbishment and construction projects, ensuring compliance with designs, quality standards, budgets and timelines.
• Coordinate with government entities, consultants, contractors and service providers to ensure effective project delivery.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records, databases, drawings, asset inventories and reports related to facilities and infrastructure.
• Conduct periodic inspections and condition assessments to identify maintenance requirements, safety concerns and improvement opportunities.
• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (OHSE) Management System.
• Drive sustainability initiatives and green‑building programmes across the Ministry’s assets.

Required profile

• UAE national.
• Minimum 120 months (10 years) of experience in facilities management, construction project management or related fields.
